Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai

8pm transfer pick up you at your hotel in Hanoi to railway station for night train up to Sapa Vietnam
 
Day 2: Sapa - Sin Chai - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho (L,D)

You will travel by car mostly downhill toward Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority, which locates right at the foot of Hoang Lien mountain range. Here you start heading up the mountain. Once you get to the top, you will trek on a small trail with spectacular view and then gradually descend to Cat Cat village, where you will have lunch nearby a waterfall.




In the after noon, you take a trail sneaking through mountain. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river you eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest in a nice spot nearby the beautiful river. You will stay overnight in Y Linh Ho, due to season it can be in local house or in tent camp.

Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 5 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 3: Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Tavan (B,L,D)

Today’s trek will continue along Hoang Lien mountain range, which offers you many opportunities to enjoy view over huge rice paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area.

After having lunch at a nice spot, you descend into the bottom of the valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You spend the night in a traditional house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 4: Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan (B,L)

Today’s trek is short, but still the landscape is beautiful. Once you get energy for your last day trek after having breakfast, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village where you can take a rest nearby a waterfall to enjoy the surroundings. You will continue trough a bamboo forest, and when you have passed the forest we find a nice place to enjoy lunch.

After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After taking a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh, you continue on a small trail towards Supan where your transfer back to Sapa is waiting.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 3 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Note: According to the weather, the first night will be spent either in tents of in a local house. Toilet tent will be provided. The trek is trough some of the most well known areas of the Sapa valley.

What to expect:
The trip takes you to one of the most remote area where you can meet very friendly locals. The night you spend in bamboo hut built by Topas in the hilly ground of a Red Dao family will be a good experience. Itinerary:

Day 2: Sapa - Ban Ho - Thanh Phu - Sin Chai (B,L,D)

 The day commences with a drive to the trekking route. The trek starts by walking through the incredibly scenic “Ban Ho” valley. Here you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the wooden houses, which traditionally belong to the Tayvillage of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao. ethnic minority. You will then continue to walk to Thanh Phu village where you stop for lunch in a local house. After lunchtime, you head to Sin Chai

Day 3: Sin Chai - Ben Den - Lao Cai (B,L)
After a good sleep in bamboo hut, you wake up for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading toward Lao Cai. Once you leave Sin Chai, the trip takes you into a fabulously mountainous area, the most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet children’ curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic minority inhabits the entire area. You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and jungle until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch.

You will go south by car toward Muong Hoa valley. Your trek will begin from Tavan village of Giay minority.  The first day trek Sapa Vietnam will be mostly uphill. Whenever you stop for a rest, you will be able to enjoy valley view. Before noon, you stop again at a nice spot for lunch.

The trek will be softer in the afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seomity village of Black Hmong minority before you arrive in a campsite, which locates nearby a river outside the village. While porters put up tents and cook dinner, you can take a walk to stretch the legs.
Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

 Day 3: Seomity - Den Thang - Ta Trung Ho (B,L,D)

The trek today takes you through beautiful rice paddies and over old suspension bridges. You will trek on small trail sneaking through rainforest. You arrive in Den Thang village of Black Hmong by noon. Here you stop for lunch either nearby a river or in a local school according to the weather.

After lunch, the trek will becomes tough on tinny footpath going up and down, which requires some concentration. You will reach to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you spend the night in local house. Both the valley and the village have just received foreign visitors. The night will be even more interesting when you are in the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.
Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 6 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 4: Ta Trung Ho - Nam Toong - Ban Ho - Sapa (B,L)

You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina with its 3143 m, is located in this mountain range. You will start the trek today by ascending to Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be prepared in a local school.

In the afternoon, before descending to Ban Ho, you can make a stop by a waterfall to refresh. On the last hours you can enjoy the valley one final time while trekking up to Su Pan, where your car takes you on the journey back to Sapa Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai

From there you take a short walk to Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you spend the night in traditional house of the Tay. You can take a walk to explore local daily life while your dinner will be served with Vietnamese dishes.

Day 5: Thanh Phu - Nam Cum - Sin Chai (B,L,D)

Today’s trek will be relatively short and soft. Once leaving Thanh Phu, you follow the trekking route built in the bottom of the valley, which offers the best view to the surrounding mountains. You stop at a nice spot for lunch.
After lunchtime, you continue the walk toward Sin Chai village of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 3 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 6: Sin Chai - Thanh Phu - Ban Ho (B,L,D)

Today’s trek takes you through several villages where you will be able to meet Tay, Hmong and Xa Pho ethnic minorities. You will have time to photograph the beautiful rice paddy terraces and the surrounding mountain. On the way you will visit a local school. Your lunch will be prepared and served in a traditional Tay house in Thanh Phu.
In the afternoon, you head toward Ban Ho.  You will trek along Muong Bo River where you can enjoy a refreshing swim nearby a waterfall before you arrive in Ban Ho. Here you spend the last night in a Tay house. You will have chance to taste rice wine with friendly Tay people during the meal.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Day 7: Ban Ho - Su Pan - Sapa (B,L)

Today will be very relaxing; take an easy walk around the village, visit a local school, go swimming or just sit in the balcony to read book and enjoy the views. You will have lunch before heading uphill toward Su Pan.
After lunch, you trek all the way uphill. On the way you can enjoy the valley views while taking a rest. You will pass by a tinny village of Red Dao minority where you may find a small souvenir for your trip. Once you get to Su Pan, you start your journey back to Sapa by car.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 45 minutes hour driving/ 2 hour walking/ 1 hour lunch

Itinerary in brief

Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai

The first night, guide and car pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi , transfer to Hanoi Station for LC5 Train, soft sleeper, AC. Overnight on train

Day 2: Lao Cai - Bac Ha – Nam Khanh.

Arrive in Lao Cai at 05.30am. You’ll have breakfast in the restaurant, and then the bus ride uphill to Bac Ha takes about 2 hours, giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Arrive at the Bac Ha tourism office and prepare to start at 9.00am from Bac Ha by car for 10kms before climbing to Dao’s village. The way to Dao’s village is really difficult to climb so that you should carry as least luggage as possible. After about 3 hours, you’ll arrive the village. It’s time for relaxing and having lunch on green fields. After lunch, you’ll have to go through the cinnamon forest. Having a breath at foot of baamboo bridges before continuing your tour by climbing for more than 1 hour. Then walking for 45mins to Nam Khanh and stay here for a night.
Meals: (L;D) ; Trekking distance: 12 km.

 Day 3: Nam Khanh – Ban Lien.

Starting at 9:30am from Nam Khanh to Ban Lien. On the way, you can see many hills which is used for planning tea. In addition, there’re palm forest, green fields and primeval forest which combined to make a place of natural beauty. Staying in at Tay village for a night, you can discover their living in this highland. Tay’s houses which are called houses of stilts, it’s made from baamboo and woods. Their houses used to be bigger than houses of other different manorities and can be 160 square meters. Roof’s used to make from palm leaves to protect their houses from hard weather in this area. A roof which made from palm leaves can be used for more than 30 years.

Day 4: Ban Lien – Na Lo.

Starting at 8.am from Ban Lien to Na Lo, you’ll begin your trip back to Bac Ha through roads along the moutain, through many fields in stairs shape. And the 3rd day’s finished at Tay village. Tay is a ethnic group who live in the valleys and planning rices on highlands for living. They use to live in groups near the sources of water. Their tranditional clothes are in light colors, all most in various colors in contrast. Tay is the most populous of the hill tribes. Because of the development and adaptation to the Vietnamese society some of them have started wearing Vietnamese clothing. But most women still wear the traditional checkered headscarf. We stay overnight in a wooden Tay stilt house.

Day 5: Na Lo – Bac Ha.

After having breakfast at 8:30am, you’ll begin your last day from Na Lo to Bac Ha. There’re 2 ways back to Bac Ha to choose depends on you: the first way is going on main road for 45mins and the second one is going on the moutnain road for 2 hours. If choosing the moutain road, you’ll have to cross terrace fields and villages of H’Mong. On this way, you’ll meet the Hoang A Tuong palace before coming back to the hotel.

Day 6: Bac Ha - Hanoi

Today we have free time hold all day explore Bac Ha by your self.
3.pm Then take car/bus back to Laocai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi roughly 4:30 AM. The end of tour.
